Held in Nelson from 3-8 January, Steam & Cinders 2018 lived up to its name with plenty of steam, and big crowds who enjoyed the weather, the rides and the displays.
Held every two years at a different clubs facilities in New Zealand, the 5 days of activities see all National affiliated clubs and several International clubs or representative members attending.
As well as a huge variety of locomotives, steam, petrol and electric, there are usually static displays of a range of miniature engines, along with junior and senior competitions for convention attendees to solve and present engineering solutions to problems posed.
We just popped over for a day on Sunday 7th January and enjoyed plenty of rides, lively banter and catching up with our train friends.
